graudation has finally occured and now a 'new chapter of my life is beginning.' kind of cheesy, although oh so true. i'm at work trying to keep myself occupied until 2:30. i want to begin reading during my 'down time' at work instead of wasting my time on the computer and other useless things. if anyone has a book they could recommend me, i will happily read it! i'm paying off my library fine tomorrow and then i will be free to check out whatever! so please, please recommend me a book!!! i will greatly appreciate it!
i work seven days in a row and then off to cornerstone! i am so excited and can't believe the time has finally come for our awaited departure. we've all been running around here trying to make time in our schedule for last minute purchases and such. i bought 4 rolls of polaroid film (i hope it's enough..), a million tank tops and a couple of summer dresses. the heat in illinois and on the trip is either going to be unbearable or very nice. i hope we meet a lot of new people.
all my graduation money and large portions of my paychecks have been going into my savings acount and so now my dad and i have been looking for a car for me to buy. i can not wait to buy my own car. like i said, a whole new chapter.

i'm coming back to live again.
in a nutshell:
+ : i got a second job
(working in office for a company called savvydiner.com. i'll spare you
guys the boring details)
+/- : tara and I are looking for apartments to move into
(this is a bitter sweet process. tara needs to be out by june, and she
wants me to move in with her.)
+ : i only have about three more weeks of school
- : i got a letter from my counselor the other day saying that they mixed up
my credits and it shows that this year i've only taken two class.
when in reality i've taken over 10. so i have to go in and bring all this
paperwork and junk in to prove to them that i actually did indeed go to
school this year.
+ : cornerstone is only 53 days away!
+ : my hair is past my shoulders
(this is the longest it's been in over three years)
+ : i get my braces off in 5 days!
- : i have no more free time and not one day off with two jobs and school.
+ : i have met some amazing people over the past couple of months and i can
not wait to become better friends with them.
+ : i got the back of my neck pierced!
in all: my life is good. this year has brought about so much change. i can not wait for summer and for a new phase in my life to begin. there is too much that has happened to include everything, but i am going to try my best to continue to update this (like i haven't said that before....). hah, does anyone even read this thing anymore??

turned 17 on May 1st!!!!
my beautiful sister is almost legal and (not to sound like an old person) is growing up right before my eyes! i can not wait to see what my rockabilly baby is going to be doing next week or next year. there are no predictions out there that could confirm what this lady is going to be doing with her life. i would be one lonely person without her in mine.
i am forever grateful for my siblings. the more time that passes the more i have come to realize that God has blessed me so much with them. it makes it hard for me to even think of having to leave them one day.
i want to get better involved with people. i know that us girls took a "break" from people a while ago but i'm ready to reconnect again. i want to know what is personally going on with all my friends instead of having superficial friendships with everyone. those don't seem to go anywhere and i'm tired of being on the same level of friendship with some of you who i have known for over a year or so. i want to invest time and energy into the peoplel i likeeeeee. in all honesty, it's hard to find people you really like and enjoy. i think everyone can agree to that.

the mayer girls scored two hott dates for valentine's day this year.
stephen and sam were the dashing duo that came to impress and let us just say that these boys did good. real good.
our night consisted of a steak dinner complete with sparkling cider, puffy jackets, and stargazing on "the roof."
this was probably the best date that any of us ever went on.
heck, what am i saying?
this was our first date ever...as a trio.
unfortunately, we had to cut the date short because sam had work but apparently we're planning on a valentine's day date pt. 2 some time hopefully this week.
stephen and sam: if you boys plan something really awesome for valentine's day date pt. 2 we'll pay you back in sugar...
we hope everyone had a wonderful valentine's day and that it was full of love.

hah, my car broke down today at the gas station while i was filling up before i had to be at a dr.’s appointment. tara and i had to walk home…but i thank the Lord that it happened today because i had my cell phone and ipod on me and there was not a single rain cloud in the sky. so, it basically couldn’t have happen on a better day. and speaking of the weather….we had 28 days straight of rain that ended about a week ago. seattle hasn’t broken its record yet, but pretty close.
i am happy. although i can hardly believe that i’m saying this since three weeks ago, my life has basically been school and looking for a job. i don’t have much to explain except for i feel like i’m now appreciating everyday that i’ve been given and i want to live life to its fullest. i know that sounds quite cheesy but there is no use wandering around being mopey and miserable. i’m only going to be 18 once, and i’ll never be able to relive my adolescent years. in the great words of my wonderful mom and missy elliott, ‘you don’t need a man to fulfill yourself, you need to find happiness and fulfillment in yourself first and be content with that.’
moving on…
my baby brother just turned 14! he’s slowly turning into a man with his recent need to shave, wear deodorant on a regular basis, and the deepening of his voice. he is also as tall as me now, although still skinnier. he is my favorite brother and my life would be a less interesting place without him! he is so talented and I can not wait to see where his life leads him five years from now.

so i guess in the spirit of the new year mylon and i put steps in our hair. hah, you only live once, right? they were cool while they lasted although mine are starting to grow out and i think i’m going to let them. i seemed to have started a trend though because now everyone seems to be sporting new shave spots. some people are trying to stake claim on being the first to do so, but trust me honey, i was the orig.
i have good feelings about this new year. i wrote down resolutions and hopefully i’ll be able to stick by them. alex traveled over from oak harbor to spend new years weekend with us and it was nothing short of wonderful. we went to gasworks park and were able to look upon the space needle and the beautiful city of seattle with fireworks going off and a whole lot of drunk people yelling and flailing around at midnight on The Day.

hah, we brought the new year in with style and wore dresses. we spent the evening on the hill getting krunk on martinelli’s. at home, we watched movies, ate too much and had pictures drawn on our foreheads. i do believe that it was the best new years celebration i have ever had and i enjoyed so much the company of my sissies, brother, alex, shane, sam and jake. I love you all so much.

a couple of weekends ago we ran away to castle rock to visit abi and hannah. although our adventure only lasted one night we enjoyed it very much. we plan on visiting them a lot more in the future. and ladies, if you’re reading this, you’re welcome at our house any time. :]

i apologize that this post is so ridiculously long and probably somewhat boring! new year’s resolution: update more often. hah. i commend anyone who actually read through all of this.
